Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Data / Fibre Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in telecommunication infrastructure, network installation, and fibre optics. The successful candidate will possess essential certifications such as CSCS or ECS and IPAF, demonstrating their commitment to safety and industry standards. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing complex data and fibre optic networks, ensuring optimal performance across various telecommunications systems. Duties
- Install, test, and commission fibre optic and data cabling systems in accordance with schematics and technical specifications
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of network infrastructure including CCTV, VoIP, Ethernet, Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and Avaya systems
- Use hand tools and electrical equipment to perform precise cable splicing, termination, and equipment repairs
- Read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and network layouts to ensure accurate installation and configuration
- Perform network installation tasks involving telecommunication hardware such as switches, routers, and VoIP systems
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations by adhering to CSCS or ECS standards; operate IPAF equipment safely when working at heights
- Document all installation activities accurately in logs and reports for quality assurance and future reference
Qualifications
- Must hold valid CSCS or ECS certification along with IPAF accreditation to demonstrate compliance with safety standards
- Proven experience in fibre optic installation, network cabling, and telecommunications infrastructure
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and electrical testing equipment for cable termination and equipment repair
- Electrical experience is highly desirable to support complex system integration tasks
- Ability to work at heights using IPAF equipment safely; excellent problem-solving skills; strong attention to detail
