Job Summary
As a Sous Chef at our establishment, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef and Head Grill Chef in the kitchens between our central production facility and at the fish shack.
Based across three sites being our CPU preparation unit on North Shields Fish Quay, at Riley's Fish Shack in Tynemouth, and our Fish Shop and restaurant your culinary expertise and leadership skills will contribute to the smooth operation of the kitchens, ensuring high-quality dishes are consistently delivered to our guests.
Creating daily specials inspired by the fish market the role is ever changing with creativity at the core.
Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in food preparation and cooking
- Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate their tasks
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations
- Contribute to menu planning and development
- Oversee food production and maintain high standards of quality
- Help create a positive working environment in the kitchen
- Support in training and mentoring kitchen team members
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques
- Excellent supervisory and team management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Proficiency in kitchen operations and food production processes
- Culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are desirable

Pay: £42,500.00-£47,500.00 per year
