As we continue to make a difference to our communities, we are looking for a Housing and Compliance Officers to join the team at The Maples. As a Housing and Compliance Officers you will oversee the maintenance/property budget, health & safety, client fit and quality of managed schemes so that the individuals who have a mental ill health diagnosis can live in a safe and suitable environment.

We offer a wide spectrum of community rehabilitation, support, and housing solutions, that meet the needs of people living with mental ill health.
What will you be doing?
- Responsible for the recovery of rent and service charge arrears for tenants and former tenant, from early intervention through to enforcement action, including the preparation of and presenting of court applications.
- Assist the Management Team in the implementation and review of policies and procedures including Rent Arrears; Allocations and Transfers; Mutual Exchanges; Anti-Social Behaviour.
- Lead, promote and support tenants to move via mechanisms such as mutual exchange, private rented and local authority choice-based lettings schemes.
- Work with the Care Team to ensure tenancy sustainment, and the offer of support as a preventative tool.
- Working with the Care team you will support the resolution of a range of tenancy management challenges, including safeguarding, anti-social behaviour, tenancy breaches and tenancy queries
- To ensure that tenancies are managed appropriately according to the circumstances of the household, signposting for support as necessary
- To regularly review tenants’ circumstances and make recommendations in respect of future housing options
- To proactively manage and investigate reports of nuisance and ASB to prevent escalation
- Work with maintenance to ensure our cleaning and gardening duties are utilised to their maximum potential, making positive improvements
- Engage the notice to quit process when a tenancy breaks down
What will you bring to the role:
- Previous experience of working in a similar role preferred
- Demonstrable understanding of licenses and tenancy agreements
- Awareness of Landlord, Leasehold and Tenant legislation and procedure
- Knowledge of welfare benefits, particularly Housing Benefits
- Experience liaison with Social Services
- Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability and confidence to generate and build effective relationships with service users
- Strong IT Skills
- Full driving license
