This is an exciting new job vacancy available for a Workshop / Mobile Vehicle & Trailer Technician covering the operational areas where I fleet operate. The role would be working from a fully kitted out service van and additional training will be considered if beneficial for both parties.
The ideal candidate would possess the skills and knowledge to carry out routine maintenance and defect repairs on commercial vehicles & trailers. Although some level of manufacturers training is provided, we do expect a good understanding of vehicle & trailer maintenance and fault finding.
Mobile Vehicle & Trailer Technician role:
- Working closely with the breakdown team you will be tasked with attending breakdowns to diagnose issues they have. Working on the vehicles to ideally get them back on the road otherwise making sure the vehicle goes back to the workshop.
- Identifying problems and advising the workshop on the issues.
- Vehicle servicing & general maintenance including electrical & vehicle Diagnostics.
- Mobile Vehicle Technicians are the face of the business so it’s important you deliver exceptional Customer Service.
- Ensure repairs are carried out to the manufacturer’s procedures in a safe and responsible manner
- Vehicle & trailer maintenance and servicing
- Complete safety checks and preparation for MOT’s
- Be on call in a rota basis and able to participate in vehicle & trailer breakdowns roadside and at our customers locations
- Follow company processes for completing paperwork including accurate completion of job cards and service records
- Keep all workshop facilities, equipment, and tools clean, tidy, and well-maintained
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when appropriate
- LGV C & E license beneficial but not essential
- Perform welding, soldering, and assembly tasks as required for equipment repair (Desirable)
- Qualifications and experience is required and pay negotiated
- We operate 7 days a week so please be prepared to work weekends too
