Overview
We are looking for a confident, proactive and highly organised Lead Dental Nurse & Practice Coordinator to join our established two surgery dental practice in central Dundee.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Dental Nurse who is ready to take the next step in their career and develop beyond a traditional chairside role.
Alongside clinical nursing, you will play an important part in the day to day running of the practice - supporting reception and administration, coordinating patients, helping lead the nursing team and contributing to the continued development of our private and specialist services.
We are an established mixed NHS and private practice with an ambitious vision for the future. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, uses their initiative and wants to play a meaningful role in the development of the practice.
The Role
This is a varied position combining clinical nursing, team leadership, patient coordination and practice administration.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading a high quality chairside support across general and specialist dentistry
- Supporting the training of junior and trainee nurses
- Working closely with the Practice Manager to support the smooth day to day running of the practice
- Supporting reception, diary management, patient communication and general practice administration
- Coordinating private patient enquiries and treatment journeys
- Helping deliver an excellent patient experience from initial enquiry through to treatment
- Supporting initiatives to grow and develop our private and specialist services
- Identifying opportunities to improve systems, organisation and the way the practice operates
This isn't a purely chairside position. We're looking for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership and is comfortable moving between clinical, patient facing and administrative responsibilities.
About You
You will be:
- A qualified, GDC-registered Dental Nurse
- Confident, personable and an excellent communicator
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable with patient and treatment coordination
- Proactive, dependable and confident using your own initiative
- Comfortable with computers and practice management systems
- Calm and professional in a busy environment
- Interested in developing your skills and taking on greater responsibility
- Commercially aware and enthusiastic about contributing to the growth of the practice
Previous experience in lead nursing, reception, administration or treatment coordination would be advantageous, but isn't essential for the right person.
More important to us is finding someone with the right attitude - someone who is reliable, takes responsibility and genuinely wants to contribute to the success of the practice.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary based on experience and level of responsibility
- Performance based bonus opportunity linked to practice growth
- GDC registration fees covered
- Funded CPD and professional development
- Training and support for extended duties
- Exposure to a range of specialist treatments
- Opportunity to develop skills in patient coordination and practice operations
- Genuine opportunity for increased responsibility and career progression
- Supportive, close-knit team
- Uniform provided
- Central Dundee location with excellent public transport links
If you're an ambitious Dental Nurse looking for a varied role with greater responsibility, professional development and the opportunity to make a real impact within a growing practice, we'd love to hear from you.
