Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people in residential care. This position involves working closely with children to promote their well-being, development, and independence, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care in accordance with individual care plans. Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support to children and young people, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Assist with implementing and reviewing individualised care plans tailored to each child's needs
- Support children with daily routines, including personal care, education, leisure activities, and behavioural management
- Foster positive relationships through effective communication and active engagement
- Encourage independence by teaching life skills suitable for each child's age and development stage
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and progress in accordance with organisational policies
- Collaborate with colleagues, social workers, families, and other professionals to ensure cohesive support strategies
- Assist with transportation as required, including driving children to appointments or activities in company vehicles
Skills
- Experience working with children or in childcare settings is essential
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, families, and team members
- Ability to work flexibly across shifts, including evenings and weekends if necessary
- Good organisational skills for managing care plans and documentation accurately
- IT literacy for maintaining electronic records and completing reports efficiently
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation duties
- Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in supporting children's development and well-being
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations professionally
- 1+ year experience in a children’s home.
- Basic understanding of trauma-informed care.
- Strong communication and emotional regulation.
- Level 3 qualification (or willingness to complete).
- Experience with EBD or residential care.

Pay: £24,420.00-£32,123.60 per year
