Team Leader – Abiden Care Home, Burnley
Salary: £14.50 per hour
Hours: 38.5 hours per week (full-time)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and compassionate Team Leader to become the second-in-command at Abiden Care Home. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is ready to take the next step in their leadership journey and work closely with the Home Manager to deliver outstanding care.
About the Role
As Team Leader, you will play a key leadership role in the day-to-day running of the home. You will support the Home Manager in maintaining high standards of care, compliance and staff performance while leading by example on every shift.
You will take responsibility for the home in the manager's absence, ensuring residents receive safe, compassionate and person-centred care at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the deputy to the Home Manager and lead the service in their absence.
- Lead and coordinate shifts, ensuring safe staffing and excellent standards of care.
- Support and supervise the care team, providing coaching and guidance.
- Complete care assessments, risk assessments and reviews.
- Monitor care plans to ensure they remain accurate and person-centred.
- Support admissions and resident assessments.
- Ensure medication, documentation and record keeping are completed accurately.
- Promote a positive culture focused on quality, dignity and respect.
- Support audits, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
- Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals and external agencies.
- Assist with investigations, supervisions and performance management where required.
- Champion the Caring & Leading values across the home.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience as a Senior Care Assistant or Team Leader.
- Is passionate about delivering outstanding person-centred care.
- Has excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Can confidently lead shifts and make decisions.
- Is organised and able to prioritise effectively.
- Has experience completing care documentation and assessments.
- Holds (or is willing to undertake) medication competency.
- Is committed to continuous learning and professional development.
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (minimum).
- Willingness to undertake and successfully complete NVQ Level 4/5 in Leadership and Management as part of the role.
- Good understanding of CQC standards and safeguarding.
- Flexible approach to working shifts.
