Activities Co-Ordinator - WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY ONLY
We are currently looking to employee a activities Coordinator, you will need to have previous experience and knowledge of working with people with dementia. You will be responsible to organise a weekly activities board and inform family and residents. You will need to have good communication skills and have a positive attitude towards the individual needs of our residents. Activities is a huge part of our residents well being so new fresh ideas are required to stimulate their needs and keep them happy at all times.
Main purpose of the job
To lead and encourage residents to join in meaningful activities whilst maintaining their independence, choice and dignity, to enable them to lead as full and active life as possible.
To create a stimulating and varied programme of leisure activities and social events, inside and outside of the home, for residents to enjoy.
To work with each new resident to understand their likes/dislikes, abilities and needs to put together an individual social care plan and to evaluate regularly.
To engage the local community into the daily lives of residents by initiating contact with local community groups enabling residents to partake / continue with hobbies and interests as desired.
To promote and enhance the existence of the home in the community and encourage the use of communal spaces within the home for groups to meet and hold events.
To regularly assess the effectiveness of the social events and activities programme.
To work as an active team member with your colleagues within the home to ensure the highest standards of care are achieved.
To undertake any reasonable request which facilitates the resident’s right to choice, dignity and respect.
The hours are WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY ONLY 10.00am - 3.00pm
