Atlas Care Homes Ltd is a family run business which owns different care homes owned throughout the North East. We are looking for a Bank Domestic assistant to join our team at Hebburn Manor
JOB TITLE: Domestic Assistant/Laundry Assistant
MAIN PURPOSE: To work as part of a team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the Home/Care Centre, whilst ensuring a safe, comfortable environment at all times.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Manager/Deputy Manager/Housekeeper
MAIN DUTIES
1 . Ensure that the following are carried out at appropriate intervals in all areas of the care home
Company's attention to detail philosophy:
- Thorough cleaning of all areas.
- Dusting, vacuuming and washing down of all areas.
- Cleaning of all windows.
- Polishing of mirrors, brass plates on doors and furniture (as applicable).
- Dusting of all ledges, pictures, high areas and skirting boards.
- Shampooing of carpets.
- Cleaning of curtains and furniture.
- Move all mobile furniture (including beds and chairs) and vacuum and dust beneath / behind.
- Shake out cushions
- Clean taps, sinks, soap dishes and toothbrush holders.
- Spot clean all floorings
- Emptying / cleaning of waste bins.
- Restocking of toiletries, soaps, towels etc.
2. Attend / Participate in Staff and Resident meetings as required.
3. Liaise with the Housekeeper regarding COSHH training.
4. Shadow new Staff Members in all aspects of their work in the Home/ Care Centre, giving help and guidance where appropriate.
5. Attend all mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required
6. Maintain professional knowledge and competence.
7. Adhere to the Home/Care Centre's disposal of waste policy.
8. Report immediately to the Housekeeper, or Person in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a resident, colleague, self or another.
9. Understand and ensure the implementation of the Health and Safety policy, Emergency and Fire procedures.
10. Report to the Housekeeper, or the Handy person, any faulty appliances, damaged furniture, equipment or any potential hazard.
1 1 . Promote safe working practice in the Home.
12. Promote and ensure the good reputation of the Home/Care Centre.
13. Ensure that all information of confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties.
14. Notify the Housekeeper, or the Person in Charge, as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty, and also on your return to work from all periods of absence.

Pay: £12.75 per hour
