Overview
Join our small family run business as an XYZ CNC Turner Lathe Operator and take charge of precision machining processes. Must be able to confidently operate an XYZ ProTurn lathe equipped with a ProtoTRAK SLX 555 control, including manual/handwheel operation, conversational programming, tool offsets, and basic turning cycles. We are seeking a reliable, well mannered, capable individual to replace an existing employee as soon as possible. Minimum of 39 hours required per week with optional 8.5 hrs overtime at time and half.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate XYZ ProTurn lathe equipped with a ProtoTRAK SLX 555 control with accuracy, following detailed technical drawings and specifications.
- Program machine operations.
- Perform routine maintenance where needed.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and tooling to prepare materials and fixtures for machining processes.
- Measure finished components with basic math skills and inspection tools to verify conformance to quality standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC lathes or similar machining equipment in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and tooling for setup, adjustments, and maintenance.
- Basic math skills including measurements, tolerances, and calculations essential for precision work.
- Knowledge of grinding, milling, welding would be highly desirable but not essential.
- Ability to work safely with mechanical equipment while adhering to all safety protocols.
We are unable to give training on our XYZ CNC machine so we are essentially looking for someone who can step right in to continue the roll. This is a permanent position.
Pay: £16.00-£18.00 per hour
