Overview
We are a small independent country pub with rooms and as such we operate with a small team. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Front of House Manager to oversee the daily operations of our hospitality venue. As we are a single site, there is a good work/life balance on offer.
Anyone that joins, will be expected to roll their sleeves up and undertake any task needed. However, you will not just be another name on the rota, you will be trusted to help shape the feel of the place, look after customers properly and be a key part of keeping a rural pub running well. The right person will have autonomy, support and a lot of influence over the day to day standards of the pub.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional guest service abilities, and a background in hospitality management. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team in delivering outstanding guest experiences while ensuring smooth organisational functioning.
Due to our rural location and being open seven days a week at 07:30 for breakfast, we are looking for people who are not dependent on public transport.
Duties
- Supervise, lead by example and coordinate restaurant & bar staff, fostering a positive and motivated team environment
- Oversee daily operations across restaurant, cellar and back office to ensure smooth functioning of the venue
- Collaborate with Head Chef regarding daily specials and event menus
- Ensure high standards of guest service are consistently maintained in all areas
- Manage reservations, bookings, and guest enquiries efficiently and courteously
- Oversee the organisation of events and functions held at the venue
- Implement training programmes for staff to enhance service quality and operational efficiency
- Handle guest complaints and resolve issues promptly to ensure satisfaction
- Maintain licencing compliance & health and safety standards in accordance with legal requirements
- Collaborate with other departments such as housekeeping and maintenance to ensure seamless operations
- Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of team members
Requirements
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Proven experience in supervising within a hospitality or hotel environment
- Excellent guest service skills with a professional demeanour
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude are highly desirable to cater to diverse clientele
- Knowledge of human resources practices including staff training and development
- Previous experience in hotel management or hospitality industry preferred
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and conflict resolution skills
- Flexibility to work during peak times, including evenings and weekends as required

Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
