Production Manager
Location: GA Furnace Engineering
Reports to: Operations Director
About the Role
GA Furnace Engineering is a specialist manufacturer of high-quality Incineration systems and refractory products. We are looking for an experienced, driven, and hands-on Production Manager to lead our manufacturing operations.
We are looking for someone who leads from the front, is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, and understands what it takes to deliver quality products on time. The successful candidate will have experience within a refractory casting and/or ceramic fibre manufacturing environment and will thrive in a fast-paced engineering business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of the production department to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Plan, coordinate and monitor production activities to consistently meet customer delivery deadlines.
- Lead, motivate and develop production teams, promoting accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with purchasing, engineering and sales to ensure production priorities align with customer requirements.
- Ensure all refractory casting and fibre manufacturing processes are carried out to the highest quality standards.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement practical solutions to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, health and safety, and quality throughout the workshop.
- Monitor labour, materials and production costs to maximise operational efficiency.
- Ensure machinery, equipment and tooling are maintained and operating effectively.
- Produce and report on key production performance indicators (KPIs).
- Drive a culture where deadlines are met without compromising quality or safety.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience as a Production Manager or Senior Production Supervisor within manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling and resource management.
- Experience managing skilled production teams.
- Excellent knowledge of health and safety within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and production documentation.

Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
