Join Our Team Delivering Integrated Railway Station Communication Systems
Gee Communications is seeking skilled and motivated SISS Installers to support the delivery of Station projects across Wales.
The Role
As a SISS Installer, you will work under the supervision of experienced engineers and project managers to deliver Station Information and Security Systems across railway stations in Wales. You will receive support and training while developing your knowledge of rail communications and security systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Installing structured cabling systems, including Cat5e, Cat6 and fibre optic cabling.
- Installing, terminating and testing IP CCTV systems and associated NVR equipment.
- Installing Help Points and emergency communication systems.
- Installing Public Address (PA) and Customer Information Systems (CIS).
- Installing and connecting network switches, routers and associated hardware.
- Assisting with system configuration, integration and fault-finding activities.
- Working in accordance with technical drawings, specifications and site safety documentation.
- Supporting testing and commissioning teams during project handover.
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship, quality and Health & Safety compliance.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Experience in security, CCTV, data cabling, telecoms, or related installation environments.
- Practical experience installing and terminating structured cabling systems, including copper and/or fibre optic cabling.
- Good understanding of installation practices and site-based working.
- Willingness to learn and develop knowledge of IP-based communications and security systems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and follow installation specifications.
- Strong work ethic with a commitment to quality and safety.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Experience installing SISS systems, CCTV, PA, CIS, Help Points or other communication systems.
- Experience with Hanwha CCTV systems and associated video management platforms.
- Experience with Infotec Customer Information Systems (CIS) and passenger information products.
- Rail infrastructure experience.
- ECS/CSCS accreditation.
- PTS certification.
- IPAF and/or PASMA certification.
- Experience working within railway stations or public infrastructure environments.
- Basic networking knowledge, including switches, routers and IP devices.
