Llangatwg Community School is seeking to appoint a committed and reliable Cleaner to help maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the school site. Working individually and as part of a small team under the direction of the Senior Cleaner, the successful candidate will ensure that designated areas are kept in a clean and hygienic condition in line with agreed schedules and quality standards. We are looking for a hardworking, flexible individual who takes pride in their work and is committed to the delivery of an excellent service.
Main Purpose of Post:
To clean designated areas of the school to agreed schedules, ensuring that all areas are maintained in a clean and hygienic condition in line with quality standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Undertake, individually or as a member of a team, the cleaning of premises, which may from time to time be varied at the discretion of the Senior Cleaner or Support Services Manager.
- Ensure that designated areas are kept in a clean and hygienic condition in accordance with agreed schedules and quality standards.
- Carry out specific cleaning duties including cleaning, washing, sweeping, vacuum cleaning, emptying of litter bins, polishing and dusting of designated areas (including toilets) and fixtures and fittings.
- Use electrically powered equipment where appropriate and in accordance with agreed guidelines.
- Ensure health and safety regulations are complied with at all times.
- Undertake training as required and identify own training needs.
- Duties and hours may vary between term and closure periods and shall be undertaken at the discretion of the Cleaning Supervisor.
- Undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required, commensurate with the salary grade and within the postholder's capabilities.
