We are looking for a FUN, BUBBLY, ENERGETIC and passionate skilled Dance Teacher to join our performing arts team, working with students aged 6 to 14 years. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves inspiring young performers and is confident in leading fun, structured, and engaging dance lessons for a range of abilities.
About the Role
Our dance classes focus on building strong technique, confidence, and performance skills in a fun and supportive environment. Students explore a variety of dance styles – from jazz to musical theatre – and are encouraged to develop both solo and ensemble work.
We’re looking for a teacher who can help our students develop strong foundations in rhythm, movement, and stage presence, all while keeping lessons age-appropriate, creative, and super FUN!
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, structured dance lessons for children aged 6–14
- Teach core dance techniques, including posture, alignment, coordination, and musicality
- Be able to choreograph dances for all our amazing projects (show term, cabaret term, performance troupes)
- Encourage creativity, expression, and confidence through solo and group work
- Prepare students for showcases, mini-performances, and potential auditions
- Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Collaborate with singing and drama teachers to support integrated performance projects
- Be organised, punctual, and consistent in your teaching approach
About You
- Experience teaching dance to children and pre-teens, in a group setting
- Fun, approachable, and energetic teaching style, with the ability to adapt to different learning styles
- Strong understanding of dance technique and progression for young dancers
- Skilled in leading group routines and choreography for various abilities
- Able to manage a classroom with care, encouragement, and clear expectations
- Passionate about helping young performers grow in skill, confidence, and self-belief
- A team player who enjoys being part of a creative and supportive teaching environment
Desirable Qualifications
- Training or degree in Dance, Musical Theatre, or a related subject
- Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain)
