Integrated Community Equipment Service is a joint service with Coventry City Council and NHS/Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust. We provide a service in supplying various items of equipment to residents of Coventry to enable and support them with daily independent living. To support and facilitate hospital discharges and prevention, working alongside various professions across the city. These can be Occupational Therapists, Physio Therapists, District Nurses, Social Workers, Doctors or Specialist Therapists.
What is the job role?
The integrated community equipment service provides disability equipment to the residents of Coventry. When this equipment is no longer required it is either collected or returned direct to us so that it can be decontaminated for reuse with other people.
As a store/driver technician you will work within the warehouse as well as delivering/collecting equipment to/from the community.
When working in the warehouse you could be processing equipment delivered to us from suppliers, decontaminating equipment that has been returned to us, completing maintenance or servicing on equipment, picking and packing stock and assembling items that require it.
The driving aspect of the role includes the delivery and fitting of equipment along with the collection of equipment which is no longer required by the customer. The role also includes servicing equipment that is out in the community, primarily PAT testing electrical items and completing LOLER inspections on slings. As a driver you may be asked to complete visits to check equipment where a fault has been reported.
The nature of the job is physically demanding and the use of moving and handling skills is required. However, training will be provided.
The driving role includes weekend working on a 1 in 7 rota basis. The weekend shift consists of working 10.00am till 2.00pm on and Saturday and Sunday. When covering this shift the driver takes the Monday off.
The post is a 30 hours post working 9:00am - 5.00pm Tuesday to Thursday and 8.30am - 4.30pm on Fridays.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a motivated individual with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
They will need to be able to work off their own initiative at times as well as the ability work as part of a team.
An understanding of the nature of the work carried out by the service is beneficial and the ability to understand and follow policies and procedures along with manufacturer instruction will be needed.
A full driving licence is required.
