HGV Technician

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy and professional commercial vehicle workshop in Plymouth.
This is a great opportunity for a skilled Technician looking for strong earning potential, a varied workload and genuine opportunities to develop their skills. With early and late shift patterns available, the role also offers flexibility alongside the security of a permanent position.
The Role
You will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance and repair of HGVs, ensuring vehicles are kept safe, reliable and compliant.
Your duties will include:
- Servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs
- Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults
- Carrying out inspections and compliance checks
- Preparing vehicles for MOT
- Using diagnostic equipment and fault-finding techniques
- Completing workshop records accurately
- Working efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Level 3 HGV / Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification
- Previous experience working in a commercial vehicle or HGV workshop
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- A reliable and professional approach
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A willingness to develop your technical skills
