Romantica Italian Restaurant – Mere Green, Sutton Coldfield
Romantica Italian Restaurant is looking for an experienced Pizza & Pasta Chef to join our kitchen team. We are seeking someone who is passionate about authentic Italian cooking, works well in a busy kitchen environment, and takes pride in producing consistently high-quality dishes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a range of Italian pasta dishes and pizzas to a consistently high standard.
- Prepare fresh pizza dough, portion dough balls and manage correct proving and storage.
- Stretch, top and cook pizzas efficiently during busy services.
- Prepare pasta dishes, sauces and accompaniments according to our recipes and presentation standards.
- Carry out daily preparation and ensure your section is fully ready before service.
- Maintain excellent standards of food quality, portion control and presentation.
- Work efficiently during busy lunch and evening services.
- Monitor stock levels and inform the Head Chef of ingredients that need ordering.
- Minimise food waste and follow correct stock rotation procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic workstation at all times.
- Follow all food hygiene, allergen, HACCP and health & safety procedures.
- Work closely with the Head Chef and other members of the kitchen team.
- Assist other kitchen sections when required.
- Help maintain the high standards expected at Romantica Italian Restaurant.
Experience & Skills Required
The successful candidate should have:
- Previous experience as a Pizza Chef, Pasta Chef or Italian Chef.
- Good knowledge of traditional Italian cuisine.
- Experience preparing and cooking pizza and pasta from fresh ingredients.
- Good knowledge of pizza dough preparation and proving.
- Ability to work quickly and calmly during busy services.
- Strong attention to detail and presentation.
- Good understanding of food hygiene and allergen procedures.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Reliability, punctuality and a professional attitude.
- A genuine passion for Italian food and maintaining high standards.

Working Hours
