Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all aspects of food and drink preparation.
- Take customer orders efficiently and accurately, providing friendly and attentive service.
- Handle cash transactions and operate the till with precision, ensuring correct change is given.
- Restock supplies as needed, including coffee beans, milk, cups, and other ingredients or disposables.
- Keep the work area clean and organised, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Engage with customers in a welcoming manner, fostering a positive atmosphere within the café.
- Assist with food preparation tasks when required, supporting overall operational efficiency.
Skills
- Previous barista experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Knowledge of food safety standards to ensure hygienic practices are maintained at all times.
- Experience in serving customers with professionalism and courtesy.
- Ability to perform basic food preparation tasks efficiently.
- Strong time management skills to handle busy periods calmly while maintaining quality service.
- Good basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly attitude that enhances customer satisfaction.
