Are you organised, personable and enjoy helping people?
Whether you're leaving school, college or university, or already have experience in customer service or administration, we'd love to hear from you.
My Law Solicitors is a growing specialist employment law firm based in Wakefield. We advise employees and employers across England and Wales, providing clear, practical legal advice and exceptional client care.
We're looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and hardworking Legal Assistant to become the first point of contact for our clients and play a vital role in the day-to-day running of our firm.
No previous legal experience is required. Full training will be provided.
About Us
We're a close-knit family-run law firm that believes in providing excellent legal advice whilst creating a genuinely supportive place to work.
We believe our clients deserve outstanding service from their very first telephone call through to the conclusion of their matter. As our Legal Assistant, you'll play a key role in delivering that experience.
You'll work closely alongside our Managing Director and two experienced Employment Solicitors, learning how a specialist law firm operates whilst developing valuable professional skills.
The Role
This is a varied, client-focused position where no two days are the same.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Answering incoming telephone enquiries and speaking with prospective clients.
- Taking details of new enquiries and ensuring clients receive an excellent first impression of the firm.
- Opening new client files and completing onboarding procedures.
- Carrying out identity verification checks.
- Issuing client care documentation and engagement paperwork.
- Booking appointments with our solicitors.
- Raising and sending client invoices.
- Liaising with our solicitors regarding client matters and ensuring files continue to progress smoothly.
- Keeping our case management system accurate and up to date.
- Chasing outstanding documentation where required.
- Sending review requests once matters have concluded.
- Closing and archiving client files.
- Providing general administrative support to the team.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Has a warm, friendly and professional telephone manner.
- Is organised and pays close attention to detail.
- Enjoys helping people.
- Is confident using computers and willing to learn new systems.
- Can manage several tasks whilst remaining calm and organised.
- Is reliable, proactive and enjoys being part of a team.
- Has a strong work ethic and takes pride in doing a job well.
Previous experience in administration, customer service or a professional office environment would be advantageous, but is not essential.
An interest in law would also be beneficial, although no previous legal experience is required.
What We Offer
- Salary of £21,500-£28,000, depending on experience.
- Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm working hours.
- 20 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Christmas office closure.
- Company pension.
- Free on-site parking.
- Full training and ongoing support.
- A friendly, supportive and collaborative working environment.
- The opportunity to build a long-term career within a growing specialist law firm.
- Regular salary reviews based on performance and development.
Why Join My Law Solicitors?
This isn't simply an administration role.
You'll become an important member of a growing law firm where your contribution genuinely matters. You'll be trusted with responsibility from an early stage, work closely with experienced legal professionals and help ensure every client receives the exceptional service we're known for.
If you're looking for a career rather than just another job, we'd love to hear from you.
