We are seeking a professional and personable Receptionist/Service Advisor to join our busy automotive service centre. This role is vital in delivering exceptional customer service whilst efficiently managing appointment scheduling, customer inquiries, and administrative tasks. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly upon arrival and ensure a positive first impression of the centre
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule service appointments with efficiency and organisation
- Provide accurate information regarding services offered and upsell additional maintenance or repair options where appropriate
- Assist customers with vehicle drop-off and collection processes, ensuring smooth transactions
- Handle cash and process payments securely using the centre’s systems
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, service history, and billing information
- Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and manage customer enquiries promptly and professionally
- Keep the reception area tidy, organised, and welcoming at all times
- Collaborate with technicians and management to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient workflow
Requirements
- Prior experience in customer service or a similar role within the automotive or retail sector is advantageous
- Mechanical knowledge or interest in vehicles is desirable but not essential; willingness to learn is important
- Strong communication skills with the ability to upsell services confidently and effectively
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in managing appointments and administrative tasks
- Cash handling experience with accuracy and integrity
- Friendly demeanour with a professional appearance and attitude
- Ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining high standards of customer care
