Job Overview
We are looking for a part-time person to join our friendly team working in a charity run community café.
The main part of the role will be cooking and serving our great value breakfasts and lunches but will also include customer service and working with and helping support our great team of volunteers
Duties
- Working as part of our friendly and supportive team
- Preparation and cooking of all menu items
- Being able to undertake responsibility of running cafe independently when required
- Following food hygiene guidelines and ensure safe food handling and preparation at all times
- Customer service
- Money handling and use of point of sale system
- Support and mentoring of volunteers, some of whom may have additional needs
- Cleaning of café and kitchen area at end of shift
Requirements
- Previous café experience would be desirable but not essential
- Being able to prepare and cook menu items including breakfasts and light lunches will be an essential part of this role
- Ability to undertake responsibility for running of café independently when required
- Friendly approach
- Ability to work with a wide range of people who use our cafe
- Some flexibility around hours to cover colleagues leave etc.
- Ability to follow health and safety and food hygiene guidelines
- Undertaking Food Safety Level 2 Qualification and additional training as required
