The Opportunity
As a Senior Planner/ TOC Schedule Lead within Project Controls, you’ll play a key role in driving performance across a major programme area. Working within the PMO or Delivery Programmes, you’ll lead on scheduling excellence- developing, integrating, and assuring complex project schedules while supporting high-quality decision-making across the project.
You’ll be accountable for a defined scope, ensuring all schedule activities are delivered efficiently, in line with governance, standards, and deadlines. This role requires a proactive, solutions-focused mindset, with a strong emphasis on innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of integrated schedules within your area
- Manage and assure outputs from direct reports and supply chain schedulers
- Review supplier schedules for compliance, quality, and alignment with contract requirements
- Identify key interfaces, risks, opportunities, and mitigations
- Support programme reporting including progress updates, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Deliver accurate and timely month-end reports (IWS, baseline, performance)
- Lead schedule workshops, peer reviews, and deep dives on critical issues
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders, PMs, and multidisciplinary teams
- Promote best practice and position this project as an industry leader in schedule management
About You
You’ll bring proven experience as a Senior Scheduler on large-scale, complex infrastructure projects, with the confidence to challenge, influence, and lead across multiple stakeholders.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (engineering, construction, finance, project management, etc.)
- Advanced planning and scheduling expertise
- Strong experience with Primavera P6 and schedule quality tools (e.g. Acumen Fuse)
- Ability to build schedules from first principles and critically assess supplier programmes
- Deep understanding of schedule integration, hierarchy, and change control
- Commercial awareness, including NEC and FIDIC contracts
- Experience working with supply chain partners and senior project stakeholders
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines
Desirable
- Knowledge of APM or similar project management frameworks
- Experience in matrix organisations
- Membership of AACE, PMI, APM or similar
- Familiarity with Power BI or other analytics tools
- Nuclear sector experience
