The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dementia care and management, with a passion for delivering exceptional standards of care. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the care home team, providing supervision, guidance, and leadership to ensure excellent service delivery.· Act as CQC Registered Manager for the home, and all regulated activities.
- Oversee, referrals, admissions, occupancy, contracts and business development for the home. Ensuring that the service can safely meet assessed needs of residents.
- Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans tailored to individual needs, including medication administration and specialised dementia care.· Oversee and govern daily operations, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to adult social care.
- Manage the homes operating budgets for staffing, food, consumables, payroll, activities, maintenance etc .
- Act as the principal local contact for CQC, local authorities, safeguarding teams, commissioners, ICBs and other regulators.
- Maintain constructive relationships with GPs, pharmacies, district nurses, specialist teams, hospitals, emergency services, advocates and community partners.
- Monitor the quality of care provided, conducting regular audits and assessments to maintain high standards.
- Manage staffing levels effectively, undertaking recruitment, organising rotas and ensuring sufficient cover for all shifts.
- Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate care and support services.
- Ensure staff receive ongoing training and professional development opportunities· Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Promote a positive organisational culture centred on compassion, dignity, and respect for residents.
About You
- Proven experience in management within a care home environment.
- Strong knowledge of dementia care and medication administration protocols.
- Excellent leadership qualities with supervisory experience in a care setting.
- In-depth understanding of CQC regulatory standards governing adult social care in the UK.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.· Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills tailored to residents’ needs and their families.
- Ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative working environment.· Knowledge of developing personalised care plans that reflect individual preferences and needs.
