Production excellence isn't simply about delivering products on time - it's about ensuring every component is manufactured safely, consistently, and in full compliance with the rigorous standards that underpin airworthiness, quality, and customer confidence. The most successful aerospace manufacturers don't just manage production; they create disciplined, collaborative environments where operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement are embedded into every stage of the manufacturing process.
As our Production Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day management of our production operation, ensuring manufacturing activities are delivered in accordance with Part 21 Subpart G requirements, approved design data, and our Production Organisation Exposition (POE). Working closely with Engineering, Quality, Safety, Commercial, and Operations teams, you'll play a key role in delivering compliant, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing that supports both business growth and customer satisfaction.
This is a varied, hands-on leadership role where you'll combine technical knowledge, strong organisational skills, and a collaborative leadership style to ensure production activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest regulatory and quality standards.
In this role you will:
- Lead the production function, ensuring all products are manufactured within the scope of Part 21 Subpart G approval, conform to approved design data, and meet the required standards for safe release.
- Ensure all production activities are carried out in accordance with the Production Organisation Exposition (POE), regulatory requirements, and internal manufacturing procedures, maintaining suitable facilities, equipment, tooling, and resources.
- Manage production operations across the shop floor, ensuring work is planned, prioritised, and delivered efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality, compliance, and airworthiness.
- Work closely with Engineering to maintain effective DOA/POA arrangements, resolve manufacturing queries, and ensure the correct approved design data and work instructions are used throughout production.
- Promote a safe manufacturing environment by ensuring Safety Management System (SMS) procedures are followed, tooling and inspection equipment remain calibrated, and any safety, quality, or airworthiness concerns are escalated promptly.
- Maintain accurate production documentation, traceability records, inspection data, and controlled work packs to support regulatory compliance and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Safety, Operations, Commercial, and Sales teams to support production planning, capacity forecasting, customer delivery commitments, and operational performance.
- Develop and lead a high-performing production team through effective resource planning, coaching, mentoring, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, quality, and compliance.
You're someone who understands that successful production is about much more than meeting schedules - it's about creating a safe, compliant, and high-performing manufacturing environment where quality is built into every product.
- Has proven experience leading people within a manufacturing or production environment, ideally within aerospace, aviation, defence, or another highly regulated industry.
- Possesses a strong understanding of production management, manufacturing processes, quality systems, and regulatory requirements, with knowledge of Part 21, POA, or airworthiness regulations highly desirable.
- Understands the importance of approved design data, production governance, and maintaining full product traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
- Has experience planning and coordinating production activities, balancing operational priorities, and delivering manufacturing targets without compromising quality, safety, or compliance.
- Builds strong working relationships and collaborates effectively with Engineering, Quality, Safety, Commercial, and Operations teams to resolve challenges and improve performance.
- Demonstrates excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to coach, develop, and motivate teams while managing multiple priorities.
- Is proficient in Microsoft Office and ideally has experience using Production Management Systems (PMS), Quality Management Systems (QMS), or similar manufacturing software.
- Holds an engineering or manufacturing qualification, or equivalent industry experience, with aerospace manufacturing and airworthiness knowledge considered a distinct advantage.
