Transport Operations Assistant (Full-Time)
Location: Sunbury on Thames – TW16 / Home
Days: Thursday, Friday & Saturday
Hours: 6:00am – Finish (Job & Finish)
Pay: £32,000 per year
We are looking for a reliable and organised Transport Operations Assistant to join our growing transport operation.
We provide delivery services on behalf of ArrowXL, the UK's largest and longest-established two-person home delivery and warehousing specialist. As a subcontractor to ArrowXL, we manage delivery routes, allocate drivers and porters, load vehicles, and monitor deliveries throughout the day until all routes are completed and crews return to the depot.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor delivery routes throughout the day and ensure deliveries are completed correctly.
Communicate regularly with drivers and porters while they are on the road.
Handle incoming calls from delivery crews regarding delivery issues and failures.
Verify and process delivery exceptions, including:
- Customer not at home
- Customer requesting a new delivery date
- Incorrect addresses
- Access issues
- Other delivery-related problems
- Communicate professionally with our client via email regarding route updates, delivery issues, and exceptions.
- Ensure all delivery failures and incidents are checked and confirmed before being reported.
- Maintain accurate records and follow company procedures at all times.
- Support the smooth running of daily transport operations.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Be confident using email and communicating professionally in writing.
- Have excellent attention to detail.
- Be organised and able to manage multiple tasks at once.
- Be comfortable speaking with drivers, porters, customers, and clients.
- Be responsible, reliable, and able to work independently.
- Have good problem-solving skills and sound judgement.
- Be competent with computers and basic office systems.
