Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated 1-1 Mentor to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young individuals. In this role, you will provide personalised guidance, support, and encouragement to youth, fostering their growth academically, socially, and emotionally. Responsibilities
- Develop strong, trusting relationships with assigned mentees through regular one-on-one meetings
- Support young people in settings and achieving personal, academic, and social goals
- Provide guidance on challenges related to school, behavior, or personal development
- Collaborate with families, teachers, and other stakeholders to ensure holistic support for mentees
- Create engaging activities that promote life skills, self-esteem, and resilience
- Monitor mentee progress and adapt mentoring strategies as needed
- Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress reports to track development
Experience
- Prior experience in teaching, youth work, or mentoring roles is highly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children and adolescents from diverse backgrounds
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required by the role.
- Knowledge of special education needs and strategies for supporting youth with additional challenges is a plus
- Strong communication skills with an empathetic and motivating approach
- Previous experience working directly with children and young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs preferable, related experience also applicable
