- Monitoring and maintaining key services, including heating, lighting, plumbing and non-medical equipment
- Supporting the Home Manager with health and safety compliance, identifying and reporting risk areas and helping to maintain a safe and secure environment
- Working with the Home Manager and Property Manager on longer-term projects such as refurbishment, redecoration and non-routine servicing
- Carrying out fault-finding and basic repairs on equipment, including catering and laundry machines
- Helping to ensure the home remains a warm, welcoming and secure place for residents, team members and visitors

- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively
- A genuine care for the environment you work in and the people who live there
- A valid driving licence with a clean record (essential)
- Experience in a care home or similar environment is desirable, but not essential
- Knowledge of health and safety practices relevant to building maintenance
- A friendly, approachable manner and a willingness to be part of a close-knit team
