Residential Dementia & Mental Health Service
24 Hours Per Week – Includes weekends
NVQ Level 3 Essential
We are seeking a highly competent, clinically confident Senior Carer to join our specialist residential service supporting adults (under & over 65) living with dementia and mental health needs.
This is not a standard senior role. We are looking for someone who understands governance, risk, medication safety, and regulatory compliance — and who can confidently lead a shift to a high clinical standard.
The Role
As Senior Carer, you will take operational lead on shift and be responsible for:
- Safe administration and oversight of medication (including complex regimes)
- Monitoring health needs and escalating concerns appropriately
- Updating and auditing digital care plans and risk assessments
- Ensuring compliance with CQC standards and internal policies
- Supporting residents with behaviours associated with dementia and mental health diagnoses
- Leading and supporting care staff to maintain safe, structured care delivery
You will be expected to work proactively, make sound decisions, and maintain high documentation standards.
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 NVQ in Health & Social Care
- Proven medication administration competency
- Experience using digital care planning systems
- Strong working knowledge of:
- CQC Fundamental Standards
- Safeguarding
- MCA & DoLS
- Risk management & incident reporting
- Experience within dementia and/or mental health services
- Confident shift leadership experience
