Care Supervisor (Maternity Cover)
Care Solution Bureau Portsmouth is looking for a well-rounded care professional to join our team as a Care Supervisor.
This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00 (37.5 hours per week). However, due to the nature of the business, some evening and weekend work may be required in emergency situations.
The ideal candidate will have a background in care and a strong customer-focused approach. They will be organised, able to work under pressure, and capable of prioritising their workload effectively.
What Does a Care Supervisor Do?
The Care Supervisor will assist the Care Manager and Operational Manager with the management of both service users and care staff, ensuring that the highest standards of care are delivered.
As a Care Supervisor, you will work both in the office and in the community. Your responsibilities will include coordinating services, visiting service users, carrying out risk assessments and reviews, conducting spot checks, writing reports, supervising care workers, attending meetings, and resolving issues as they arise.
Job Role
- Act as the first point of contact for service users.
- Visit potential service users to set up individual care packages, including completing risk assessments and care plans, and managing the administrative setup of services.
- Introduce new staff members, manage probation periods, and provide feedback to the Care Manager.
- Carry out service user reviews and spot checks.
- Conduct supervisions and appraisals for care workers.
- Liaise with the Care Manager, Operational Manager, service users, care assistants, and other healthcare professionals.
- Assist in implementing any necessary changes to care plans to ensure a high-quality service is maintained.
- Participate in the on-call rota as part of the team.
We are looking for someone with a proactive attitude and a passion for delivering high-quality care.
Previous team leader or supervisory experience would be advantageous, as would experience within a domiciliary care setting.
You should have a hands-on approach, as you may be required to cover care calls in emergency situations. You should also be approachable, an excellent communicator, and presentable.
