Overview
We are looking for a reliable and responsible Cleaning Operative for a temporary project at Longannet Power Station. The contract commences the first week in September running for 5-6 months.
Hours are 09.30- 12.30 Tuesday and Thursdays mornings.
As a cleaning Operative you will be responsible for the site welfare units. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across various commercial environments. Your proactive approach and dedication will ensure that our facilities remain safe, welcoming, and spotless for staff, clients, and visitors alike. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive cleaning duties in commercial settings, including mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and waste disposal
- Use specialized cleaning equipment and products safely and effectively to achieve optimal results
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, kitchens, offices, hallways, and communal areas according to company standards
- Follow health and safety guidelines rigorously to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly to management for swift resolution
- Adhere to scheduled cleaning routines and complete all necessary documentation accurately
- Support team members during busy periods or special cleaning projects as required
Experience
- Prior experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, or steam cleaners is advantageous
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality standards
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to hygiene excellence
- Good physical stamina and the ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout shifts
- Reliability is essential and will be verified with reference checks
