Salary: £24,038 - £27,040 (per annum/pro rata) (£12,019 - £13,520)

About the Role
At Recovery Connections, we believe that recovery is possible for everyone.
As a Community Coach, you’ll be at the heart of supporting people in Hartlepool to take
positive steps forward in their recovery. You’ll work alongside individuals to build
confidence, connection, and purpose — helping them access the right support, develop
new skills, and become part of a thriving recovery community.
This is a hands-on, people-focused role where you’ll make a genuine difference every day.
What You’ll Be Doing
Supporting Recovery Journeys
- Provide 1:1 support and encouragement to individuals in the community
- Help people identify their recovery goals and next steps
- Offer practical advice and guidance to those affected by substance use
Delivering Groups and Activities
- Support the development and delivery of engaging group sessions
- Use a range of recovery approaches and models to support different needs
- Create safe, welcoming spaces where people feel able to participate
Promoting Community and Connection
- Encourage and support access to mutual aid (e.g. 12-step, SMART Recovery)
- Help individuals engage with wider community activities and support networks
- Promote all pathways to recovery in a non-judgemental way
Working as Part of a Team
- Contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings and share updates
- Maintain accurate records and support monitoring/reporting requirements
- Work collaboratively across the wider Recovery Connections service
Ensuring Safe and Professional Practice
- Maintain clear professional boundaries at all times
- Follow safeguarding policies and procedures
- Work in line with organisational values, policies and CQC standards
About You
We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, motivated, and passionate about
supporting recovery.
You’ll bring:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust
- A caring, non-judgemental approach
- Good organisational and administrative skills
- The ability to work flexibly and as part of a team
Knowledge & Understanding of:
- Substance use and recovery
- Recovery approaches (e.g. 12-step, SMART, CHIME, Recovery Capital)
- Equality, diversity, and inclusion
- The impact of social exclusion
Experience (helpful but not essential):
- Supporting or coaching individuals (1:1 or groups)
- Working within recovery, health, or community settings
- Lived experience of recovery (personal or through family)
Qualifications:
- Level 2 qualification (or willingness to work towards this within 12 months – fully supported by us)
- A Health & Social Care qualification is desirable.
