We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Senior Legal Assistant to join our Family Department. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established team, supporting the partner on a broad range of high-value and complex family law matters, including financial remedy cases, business and trust assets, child arrangements, pre and post-nuptial agreements, and cohabitation disputes.
The successful candidate will have previous legal secretarial and assistant experience, ideally within Family Law, and will be confident managing a varied workload in a fast-paced environment.
Salary: £30,000 to £32,000 per annum DOE
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the partner.
- Audio and copy typing of correspondence, legal documents, court applications and reports.
- Managing a busy diary, arranging appointments, meetings and court hearings.
- Preparing legal bundles and court documentation.
- Liaising professionally with clients, barristers, courts, experts and other third parties.
- Opening new client matters and maintaining accurate client records.
- Managing file administration, billing and document production.
- Supporting with the organisation and progression of complex family law matters.
- Ensuring compliance with firm procedures and regulatory requirements.
About You
- Have experience as a Legal Secretary or Senior Legal Assistant, ideally within Family Law.
- Be confident working in a fast-paced environment and managing competing priorities.
- Possess excellent typing, organisational and administrative skills.
- Have exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Demonstrate outstanding client care and communication skills.
- Be professional, proactive and able to work independently.
- Have experience using case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
