Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Strip Fitter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for removing old upholstery, stripping interior components, and preparing surfaces for new installations. Your mechanical knowledge, use of hand and power tools, and ability to handle heavy lifting will be essential to ensure precise and efficient work. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the transformation of luxury vehicle interiors.
Duties
- Safely remove existing upholstery, headliners, and interior panels from vehicles using appropriate tools
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning, sanding, or other methods to ensure optimal adhesion of new materials
- Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, and trim removal tools to detach interior components without damage
- Operate power tools safely to facilitate efficient stripping processes
- Perform heavy lifting tasks to move seats, panels, or other large components as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace throughout each project
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent injuries during stripping and handling tasks
Experience
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle interiors or similar fields is highly desirable
- Experience with hand tools and power tools used in automotive or upholstery work is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently is required
- Prior experience in vehicle interior refurbishment or auto body work is a plus but not mandatory
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality craftsmanship
