Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Night Senior Care Assistant to join our care home team. This vital role involves supervising and supporting care staff during night shifts, ensuring the safety, well-being, and comfort of our residents. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to senior care. Experience in supervising care staff and familiarity with care plans are essential for success in this role. A valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate transportation needs when required.
Duties
- Lead and supervise care staff during night shifts, ensuring high standards of care are maintained at all times
- Oversee the implementation of individualised care plans for residents, ensuring personalised support is delivered effectively
- Provide direct assistance to residents with personal care needs, medication administration, and emotional support as required
- Monitor residents’ wellbeing throughout the night, responding promptly to any emergencies or concerns
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, incidents, and observations in line with legal and organisational requirements
- Communicate effectively with day staff during handovers to ensure continuity of care
- Supervise and support junior staff members, providing guidance and mentorship to foster professional development
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Assist with administrative tasks using IT systems to update records and manage schedules
Qualifications
- Proven experience in senior or supervisory roles within a care home setting or senior care environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team during night shifts
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Knowledge of care plans, health & safety procedures, and safeguarding protocols
- IT literacy for maintaining accurate records and managing documentation efficiently
- Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in providing high-quality senior care
