Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Pig Stockperson to join our dynamic livestock management team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the daily care, maintenance, and health of our weaner and finisher herd, ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient environment. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help promote animal well-being while supporting the overall productivity of our operation.
Duties
- Provide daily care for pigs, including feeding, watering, and monitoring their health and behavior
- Maintain clean and hygienic pig housing facilities through regular cleaning and sanitation procedures
- Support animal health by recognizing signs of illness or distress and reporting issues promptly
- Help with general farm maintenance tasks
- Provide holiday cover on the breeding unit.
- Responsible for ordering feed for the weaners and finishers
- Help with other enterprises on the farm when required.
- Required to work one weekend in 3
Requirements
- Prior experience working with livestock or animals is required
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, hand tools, power tools, and equipment repair techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently as required for handling feed bags or moving pigs
- Strong animal care skills with an understanding of livestock needs and behavior
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude towards safety and teamwork

Pay: £25,420.00-£44,996.84 per year
