Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards.
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training new team members and ensuring smooth workflow during service hours.
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency, presentation, and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely serving of food and excellent customer service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment maintenance and stock control.
- Monitor food safety practices throughout the kitchen to comply with legal requirements and company policies.
- Contribute to menu development by suggesting innovative ideas based on current culinary trends.
- Assist in managing inventory levels and ordering supplies as needed to minimise waste.
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment.
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food production across diverse cuisines.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively under pressure.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP procedures, and hospitality best practices.
- Previous restaurant experience is preferred, with a solid understanding of service operations such as serving guests efficiently.
- Experience in managing kitchen operations during busy periods while maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness.
