North Tuition is an established Yorkshire-based tutoring agency that offers high-quality tuition to support primary and secondary learners and high-quality support to our wonderful tutor team.
Role Description
Due to an increased demand, we are looking for freelance Secondary tutors to join our team. We have in-person opportunities available in and around the Harrogate, York and Leeds areas, with flexible hours bespoke to the preferences of the tutor. Alongside this, we do have secondary online opportunities across English, Maths, Science and Humanities.
Our fabulous tutors will be responsible for planning and delivering bespoke sessions, creating engaging lessons, using formative assessment to ascertain next steps and providing feedback to both students and parents as required.
Essential:
a. Qualified Teacher Status
b. Enhanced DBS Certificate
c. Registry with the Disclosure Update Service
d. Safeguarding and Child Protection Training (valid within 1 year)
e. Familiar with the latest guidance included in Part 1 of Keeping Children Safe in Education
f. Minimum of 1 year classroom experience
g. Knowledge of the most recent National Curriculum (and if appropriate, Early Years Framework)
Desirable:
a. Experience of working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
b. Prior experience of offering 1:1 or small group support
c. Recent classroom experience (within 3 years)
