Aspira Education are recruiting Behaviour & School Learning Mentors to work with pupils who have SEMH and ADHD behavioural difficulties in the within an alternative provision unit with pupils with complex behavioural needs such as SEMH, ADHD, ASD and trauma related backgrounds.
This is a 5 day per week placement working 8.30am - 3.30pm Monday - Friday

About the Role
As a Behaviour & School Learning Mentor you will:
- Support pupils within small groups and on 1-1, movement breaks, and structured activities to help regulate energy and re-engage with learning.
- Build strong, trusting relationships through consistency, calm communication, and positive reinforcement.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to maintain predictable routines and safe, supportive environments.
- Help the pupil develop resilience, confidence, and a sense of achievement through active, hands-on strategies.
- Work in an inclusive school environment where every day brings opportunities to make a real impact.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applicants from backgrounds such as:
- Sports coaching, personal training, boxing coaching, youth sports clubs, or outdoor activity leadership
- Behavioural support, SEMH roles, or outreach work
- Supporting energetic or neurodiverse young people in education or community settings
- Health & social care settings
You don’t need formal teaching qualifications or prior school experience, just the ability to stay calm under pressure, build rapport quickly, and use activity-based approaches to support behaviour.
All Applicants Must Have
- The right to work in the UK
- A clear fully Enhanced DBS
- Two recent references
- A willingness to complete free online safeguarding training provided by Aspira Education
- Be able to start from Monday 29th June
