Home-Start Essex is a dedicated family support organisation committed to empowering families with children under five years old. We provide high-quality, family-led support that address issues such as anxiety, isolation, domestic abuse, mental health, financial stress, and school readiness, allowing families to become more resilient.
We are seeking 2 enthusiastic and confident Community Engagement and Events Representatives to join our team!
We need part time ambassadors to represent Home-Start Essex at community events fundraising activities and networking opportunities, Your enthusiasm and communication skills will help us connect with potential doners and partners alike, creating a vibrant network of support and opportunity.
We need 2 people to work for 5–6 hours per month. Hours will primarily be evenings and weekends, depending on event schedules.
We are looking for 2 people to work as a team covering the variety of opportunities, so ideally we would like 2 candidates who cover different areas eg West Essex and Mid Essex, or South Essex and Mid Essex.
We are sorry, but we cannot accept any applications from people who live outside of Essex.
Key Purpose of the Roles
· Represent Home-Start Essex at community events, fundraising activities and networking opportunities.
· Manage and supervise charity promotional stands at events.
· Engage confidently with members of the public to raise awareness of the charity's work and services.
· Deliver presentations to community groups and other organisations using a prepared PowerPoint presentation.
· Distribute promotional literature and information about Home-Start Essex.
· Encourage charitable donations and support fundraising activities.
· Sell raffle tickets, run tombolas or assist with other fundraising initiatives where appropriate.
· Attend external fundraising events organised in support of Home-Start Essex, including quiz nights, summer fêtes, community festivals and similar activities.
· Build positive relationships with supporters, community organisations and local businesses.
· Act as an ambassador for the charity, ensuring a professional, welcoming and approachable manner at all times.
· Safely transport, set up and pack away promotional materials and event equipment where required.
· Provide feedback following events, including attendance, engagement and fundraising outcomes.
A car driver and use of a car is essential
