Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Café Assistant/Barista to join our vibrant team. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality in a welcoming environment. The successful candidate will play a key part in delivering excellent customer service, ensuring the café operates smoothly and efficiently. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in drinks preparation, customer service, and café operations within a unique setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
- Assist customers with their orders in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including tables, counters, and equipment, adhering to food safety standards.
- Restock supplies as needed, including ingredients, utensils, and packaging materials.
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers.
- Support food preparation tasks such as assembling light snacks or organising ingredients for quick service during busy periods.
- Manage time effectively during peak hours to ensure prompt service without compromising quality.
Qualifications
- Previous barista experience or familiarity with coffee-making equipment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of food safety standards is preferred to uphold hygiene practices within the café.
- Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment is advantageous.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively during busy periods.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely service throughout shifts.
- Friendly demeanour with strong communication skills to engage positively with customers and team members.
