Milford Care are looking for 2 permanent, full-time Team Leaders to join our fantastic, hard-working care team at one of our care homes, Spencer Grove, Belper.
Since opening in 2009, Spencer Grove has received many awards for excellence in care, including a number of winners at the Great British Care Awards and was also awarded “Best Healthcare Development” at the LABC East Midlands Building Excellence Awards.
Details of this Team Leader position and what the home is offering:
· A permanent, full-time and permanent part-time contract, working flexible day shifts over a 7 day rota

What We Are Looking For In a Team Leader:
· Experience in the care industry
· Experience working within a team
· Ability to work as a leader, and role model, while effectively meeting the needs of residents to a high standard
· Be able to manage a busy work environment in a professional manner
· Assist with staff discussions, supervisions, and appraisals.
· Assist visiting health professionals and relatives in the home
· Ability to show round potential new residents and external viewings to the home and take enquiries.
· Work in good partnership with the nurse in charge and have a good level of respect for this relationship.
· A keen interest in working in older peoples’ services
· Confidence to lead by example and support the team of carers
· A flexible approach to shift patterns and able to adhere to a 7 day rota
· You will be compassionate and respectful and able to build relationships with colleagues and those that you care for
Purpose of Position:
· To supervise, teach, organise and actively share with other staff in meeting the personal care needs of Residents in a way that respects the dignity of the individual and promotes independence.
· To supervise and help in the care of the Residents' physical environment and in the general day-to-day activities of the home.
· To take delegated responsibilities in charge of the Residents under your care, to the appropriate level.
· To organise and carry out recording of Residents' weight, Bath and nutrition & Hydration logs along with Bowel and positioning charts.
· To support and assist qualified nurses as requested to the appropriate level.
· Give and receive report from qualified nurse / Care leader on duty
· Relay said report to care staff on your shift
· Assist Residents who need help with dressing, undressing, bathing and Toileting.
· Assist Residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities such as incontinence.
· Assist in the care and use of aids and personal equipment.
· Assist in the promotion of mental and physical activity of Residents through talking to them, taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreations.
· Answer Call bells, doorbell and telephone, and greet visitors.
· Read and write reports in Daily Records.
· Take part in staff and Resident meetings
· Communicate with the Nurse in charge, Care Leader regarding the training needs of individual care assistants.
· Maintain a high standard of hygiene to prevent cross infection as stipulated in "Infection Control Guidelines" issued by the appropriate Local Health Authority.
· Maintain confidentiality regarding all aspects of care and management of the home.
