Our growing portfolio includes a wide range of commodities, oils, fatty acids, emulsifiers and other nutritional solutions supplied to feed manufacturers, merchants, integrators and other customers across the animal feed sector.
Due to sustained expansion across our UK supply chains, opportunities are available in our Yorkshire office from entry-level trainees up to senior traders/ merchants.
We are seeking dynamic, commercially minded individuals to join a highly successful family-owned agricultural trading business with strong wider group backing. Entry level candidates should have a strong commercial acumen, agricultural empathy, or a degree in Agribusiness, Business, or Economics. University level education not essential. More experienced candidates should have a proven track record of profitable physical trading within agricultural, feed, or related soft commodity sectors.
Our family-owned structure empowers traders with fast decision-making processes and direct access to senior management. You will manage, execute, and scale trading portfolios covering a diverse mix of agricultural commodities, leveraging our wide UK industry relationships to optimise trading margins.
Reporting to the Commercial Director this role and its responsibilities will be tailored to level of experience, the main responsibilities will be the following:
- Negotiate daily physical purchase and sale contracts with shippers, farmers, compound feed millers, and industrial end-users.
- Manage a dedicated profit-and-loss (P&L) portfolio for specific products, sourcing and selling both within the UK.
- Manage day-to-day freight requirements, optimising road and port logistics to protect trading margins across our portfolio of products.
- Monitor market trends, supply-demand balances, and price risk to make informed trading decisions.
- Daily market analysis, administrative data entry, and contract execution.
This position is remote/UK based hence regular travel is involved, with occasional attendance at our Hessle office, in East Yorkshire.
Pay: £27,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
