We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Senior Clinical Fellow in Elderly Medicine to join our developing team at The Royal Oldham Hospital. This is a great chance for a dedicated doctor to develop advanced skills in the care of older adults within a supportive environment that encourages innovation, education, and multidisciplinary working. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality inpatient and frailty services. This post is ideal for someone aiming to progress in geriatric or acute medicine, offering valuable clinical experience and opportunities for career development within a dynamic and welcoming department.
The primary duties of the post are to see new patients within the Emergency Department, with ready access to supervision from more senior staff.
- Support and deputise for consultants in all department activities.
- Work and liaise with the colleagues across the multidisciplinary team to ensure an appropriate, professional and timely provision of care to patients.
- Undertake ward rounds, both consultant-led and on their own.
- Continue the clinical management of patients, following departmental protocols as appropriate.
- Undertake one or more research projects of his/her choosing.
- Participate in clinical governance initiatives, e.g. CPD, clinical effectiveness and audit and risk management.
- Participate in emergency cover.
- Supporting the Clinical Director in policy and strategy development as a senior member of the Division Management Team.
- Attendance and active participation at audit and departmental meetings as required.
