We are looking for a skilled, motivated and committed person to become our new Premises Manager at Chichester Nursery School, a large Local Authority Maintained Nursery School in the heart of Chichester, which takes children from 6 months to 5 years of age. We have a large, open plan building and a big garden area, creating an exciting learning environment for young children

Salary: £26,403-26,824 pro rata – West Sussex Grade 5
Contract Type: 25 hours per week. Permanent 52 weeks per year
Working Pattern: Early mornings, Monday - Friday 6am
Location: Chichester Nursery School, St James' Road, Chichester, West Sussex PO19 7AB

What You Need to Succeed
The successful applicant will possess a range of building maintenance, DIY and caretaking skills and show a commitment to maintaining the school and its grounds to a high standard, and always with the safety of our young children in mind. Relevant qualifications are desirable, but more important is a flexible, “can do” attitude and a sense of pride in good workmanship. A knowledge of Health & Safety systems is also advantageous, although full training will be given.
This is a wide and varied role, and the successful applicant will need to possess the ability to be methodical and well-planned in the management of their workload, as well as having the ability to react to unforeseen situations and emergencies
As Premises Manager you will be an integral part of a supportive team and be a ‘hero’ to our children, providing creative solutions to problems and mending broken things!
Further Information
The hours worked will normally be worked as mornings during the working week (currently 6am-11am but some flexibility is possible). The successful applicant may also need to be available to lock and unlock the building on occasional weekends, by prior arrangement.
