We are looking for an experienced Engineering Project Manager to join our growing team in Grimsby. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the delivery of complex engineering projects, working across multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, compliant, and high-quality solutions.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading the full engineering project lifecycle, from concept and design through to commissioning and handover
- Ensuring all engineering activities comply with relevant standards, regulations, and best practices (e.g. COMAH, CDM)
- Translating client requirements into practical, technically robust engineering solutions
- Providing technical leadership and oversight across multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Managing engineering scope, budgets, and schedules to ensure successful project delivery
- Driving value engineering and continuous improvement across project delivery
- Coordinating with Procurement and suppliers to ensure technical compliance of equipment and services
- Working closely with Construction teams to resolve design and constructability challenges
- Managing external contractors and engineering partners to maintain quality and performance
- Leading technical reviews, risk assessments, and HAZID/HAZOP studies
- Monitoring project performance through KPIs and implementing corrective actions where required
- Supporting business development activities and building strong client relationships
- Mentoring junior engineers and supporting team development
What We’re Looking For
- Degree-qualified in an engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience managing engineering projects, ideally within industrial or process environments
- Strong knowledge of engineering design, project lifecycle, and technical assurance processes
- Experience working with recognised contract frameworks such as NEC or IChemE
- Good understanding of UK regulations, including COMAH and CDM
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary teams
- Commercial awareness and experience managing project budgets
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with clients and stakeholders
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
