We are looking for compassionate, reliable, and person-centred Healthcare Assistants / Domiciliary Care Workers to join our team delivering high-quality care across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire. You will support adults with a range of needs — including personal care, mobility support, medication assistance, and companionship — helping them to remain safe, independent, and happy in their own homes. No experience? We provide full training. The right attitude and caring nature are what matter most.
Key Responsibilities
Personal Care & Daily Living Support
- Assist with washing, dressing, bathing, showering, oral hygiene, hair/nail care, and continence management
- Support with mobility, transfers, and moving & handling (using equipment safely where provided)
- Help with toileting, bedpan/commode use, and incontinence care with dignity and respect
- Prompt, assist with, or administer medication in line with care plans and company policies
- Support with eating, drinking, and dietary requirements (including modified diets/feeds as instructed)
Domestic & Practical Support
- Prepare meals, drinks, and light snacks according to client preferences and dietary needs
- Assist with essential household tasks: light cleaning, laundry, bed making, shopping, and waste disposal
- Help clients access the community: accompany to appointments, social visits, and outings
Emotional Support & Person-Centred Care
- Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support — combatting loneliness and isolation
- Respect clients’ dignity, privacy, culture, beliefs, and independence at all times
- Follow individualised care plans and adapt support to meet changing needs
- Promote choice and control — putting the client at the centre of all decisions
Record Keeping, Safety & Compliance
- Complete accurate, timely, and legible care notes and daily records after every visit
- Report any changes in health, wellbeing, or safety concerns to the Care Manager immediately
- Follow all safeguarding, health & safety, infection control, and confidentiality policies
- Adhere to moving & handling, medication, and lone working safety procedures
- Maintain professional boundaries and act in the best interests of clients at all times
- Paid annual refresher training
