Responsible for managing transport, warehousing, stock control and export operations to ensure products are delivered on time, inventory is maintained accurately, and customer requirements are met.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day logistics, transport, despatch and warehouse operations.
- Lead and develop the logistics and warehouse teams, ensuring high levels of performance and compliance.
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments to meet customer delivery requirements.
- Ensure all export documentation is accurate and compliant with relevant regulations and customer requirements.
- Ensure accurate export specifications and compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Manage relationships with freight providers, couriers and logistics partners, negotiating costs and service levels where appropriate.
- Monitor, analyse and report on transport and freight costs, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reduction.
- Oversee stock control processes, cycle counting and inventory accuracy, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate stock records within the company ERP system and provide regular reporting on inventory performance.
- Work closely with Production, Procurement and Sales teams to ensure material availability and timely customer deliveries.
- Develop and improve logistics, warehousing and stock management processes to support business growth and operational efficiency.
- Ensure all logistics and warehouse activities are carried out in accordance with Health & Safety requirements and company procedures.
- Ensure despatch operators training is up-to-date.
- Supervise and support Despatch Team operations, including appropriate and safe loading and delivery preparation.
- Maintain delivery traceability by overseeing daily recording and reporting of delivery details.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and wider operational projects across the business.
- Undertake any other duties reasonably required to support the needs of the business
Qualifications:
- CILT Level 3 or above in Logistics, Transport or Supply Chain Management is desirable.
Position: Full Time with an immediate start
Hours of work: Mon- Thursday 9.00am -17.00pm, Friday 8.00am – 2.00pm
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
Holidays: Full time – 25 days per year (Holiday year Jan – Dec) + 8 Bank holidays, Pro rata for part time.
