Stoddart’s are a leading, independent Scottish beef processing company delivering the highest quality Scottish beef to our loyal customer base. We are currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Manager to join our Technical Team at our Beef Cutting Plant and Further Processing added-value Site. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for driving food safety, quality, and compliance across the site.
Job Description
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for overseeing and continuously improving the site’s Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with food safety legislation, customer standards, and third-party accreditation requirements. The role leads the QA function, supports operational teams, and acts as the main technical contact for customers, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality & Food Safety Management:
Maintain and develop the site QMS, HACCP, prerequisite programmes, and food safety culture.
Lead internal and external audits (BRCGS, customer, regulatory), manage corrective actions, and ensure ongoing compliance.
Manage, coach, and develop the QA team, ensuring clear accountability and high performance.
Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and risk management across cutting and added-value operations.
Monitor trends, prepare reports, and present quality performance data to senior management.
Additional Information
- Reports to the Group Technical Manager
- 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (site-based)
- Salary: £32 - £35k per year dependant on experience
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Experience in a Quality Assurance / Technical Management role within food manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS, and food safety legislation
- Experience leading audits and managing technical teams
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving approach
Pay: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
