Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in food preparation and meal service, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and measuring ingredients
- Support the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from senior chefs or kitchen managers
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are maintained throughout food handling and preparation
- Organise and clean workstations regularly to uphold cleanliness and safety standards
- Help with meal assembly and presentation to ensure appealing dish presentation
- Assist in serving meals to customers or staff as required
- Maintain stock levels by monitoring inventory and notifying management of supplies needed
- Support the team during busy periods to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment or culinary setting is preferred but not essential
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene
- Basic cooking skills with an understanding of meal preparation techniques
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Friendly attitude with excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends or evenings if necessary
